Marbella is a city in Andalusia, Spain, on the Mediterranean, situated in the province of Malaga.
Marbella and neighbouring Puerto Banús are popular beach resorts in the Costa del Sol both are famous for being a playground for the rich and famous. Marbella is famed as an exclusive destination for wealthy tourists from Northern Europe, as well as the British and Irish.
Marbella's reputation has been tarnished by local government corruption scandals and links with organised crime but still remains popular.

In the 1940s, Marbella was a small jasmine-lined village with only 900 inhabitants. In 1954 the Marbella Club Hotel was opened by Alfonso, heir of Prince Max Egon zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg. The hotel started to draw elite visitors form all over Europe.

Today, Marbella's impressive infrastructure of yacht harbors, golf courses, its close proximity to Malaga airport are key features and makes safe and uniquely historic urban environment with tropical parks and gardens adding to the splendor.

While walking the narrow, winding pedestrian streets and squares of old town Marbella, eating tapas and exploring the small art galleries and boutiques are the primary activities. Sound wafts from a local music school and the pace is leisurely. El Museo de Grabado (Print Museum) mounts exhibitions on contemporary printmaking and also has a museum shop selling fine art prints. Down the hill near the shore, a formerly dilapidated community is now the alluring clubbing area in Marbella.A shoreline stroll along the promenade near the Marbella Club allowing views into the manicured grounds of elegant mansions gives sight to see what's its like to be filthy rich!Jardines Oasis
